What dimming options are available?

There are three ways of dimming, namely wired dimming, wireless dimming and built-in dimming. Wired dimming including Triac dimming, 0/1-10V dimming, DALI dimming, wireless dimming including Bluetooth dimming, ZIGBEE dimming, WIFI dimming, RF dimming, built-in dimming refers to the lamps and lanterns above the knob can be adjusted to the brightness of the lamps and lanterns.

How to choose flicker free driver?

Flicker free driver is common in two programs, one is a low PF value of the driver, such as PF value of less than 0.5, this driver is flicker free, generally more commonly used for power below 15W. Another is the PF value > 0.9, this driver in the purchase of special requirements for flicker-free function, generally used for power over 15W.

How to choose triac dimming?

There are two main types of LED dimming: leading edge and trailing edge. The two methods differ in the way they control the voltage of the LED lights, which can affect the operation of the dimmer.

What is DALI?

In simple terms, DALI is a digital way of managing modern lighting. You can as well distinguish it as Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI).
it’s now possible for all DALI components of a lighting system from different manufacturers to work together as long as they contain the DALI logo.
2-Way form of digital communication DALI systems use digital signalsto transfer commands from the control systems to the luminaire and back.
DALI driver have DT6 and DT8 two versions in common, DT6 can only realize the dimming, DT8 can realize the dimming and adjusting color temperature.

What is 1-10V dimming?

The 1-10V dimming method involves a signal transmitted between 1V and 10V. Where 1V showcases the minimum amount of light (only 10%), 10V displays the maximum amount of light for this LED dimming method – at 100%.

A key difference between 0-10V dimming and 1-10V dimming is the different lighting and turn-off voltage. Where 0-10V dimming methods turn on at 0.3V, 1-10V dimming methods turn on at between 0.7 and 0.8V.

What is 0-10V dimming?

0-10V dimming methods work by transmitting a signal between 0 and 10V. As such, the output of the lamp is scaled, providing 100% light output. Naturally, 0V provides the least amount of light output.
0-10V dimming has been tested throughout the years and remains a simplified, but still reliable LED dimming control protocol.
Both the 0-10V and 1-10V dimming method are categorised as an analogue method.

What exactly is color consistency?

Some sophisticated manufacturers will describe their color consistency using a metric called SDCM or MacAdam ellipses, both of which refer to the same concept and metric. The unit of measure is a "step" and the larger the number of steps, the larger the variation in color.

In general, color consistency is deemed acceptable when it is within a 5-step SDCM range for standard applications, and 3-step SDCM range for more demanding applications for professional or architectural uses. In some cases, even narrower color tolerances are needed, but most people will not be able to tell that there is any color deviation once consistency reaches 1 or 2 SDCM.

What is Color Rendering Index (CRI) ?

Color Rendering Index (CRI) is a measurement of how natural colors render under an artificial white light source when compared with sunlight. The index is measured from 0-100, with a perfect 100 indicating that colors of objects under the light source appear the same as they would under natural sunlight. CRIs under 80 are generally considered ‘poor’ while ranges over 90 are considered

What is Color Temperature?

Most LED lighting products are offered in a variety of color temperatures in varying hues of white. Correlated color temperature, or ‘CCT’ in lighting jargon, is a term for how warm (yellow) or cool (blue) the color of light emitted from an LED bulb or fixture appears. It’s measured in units of Kelvin (K) – on a scale of 1,000 to 10,000 – and is easiest to explain in terms of how sunlight works.
